      Tribands

          This is a Triband:

 

 

          It is a trio of Borromian Rings, made of actual elastic bands. I had to cut the red hairband, weave it through the others, and re-glue it, for otherwise the linkage is topologically impossible. 

          Though all three are linked, no two are joined. Any two can be pulled apart, like this:

          If you pull apart red and blue bands, wrap the red band around a bundle of pens, poke the blue band through the end of the red band, and pull the blue band through, then after a bump the triband forms this “bunny bundle”:

 
          It’s a way to elastically bind together pens, or cables, or hair, without going the long way around.
