Restore the Pay Ethic!
There has been a lot of loose talk about the so-called decline of the Work Ethic. Nonsense. The work ethic is alive and well; America’s workers now labor longer and harder, with lesser expectation of pay, than they have in decades.
What’s ailing is the Work Ethic’s necessary complement: the Pay Ethic. If you want pay, then you must work; but in return, if you want work, then you must pay. There is no free lunch; if the bosses don’t want quiet-quitting, then they had better give audible pay.
RESTORE THE PAY ETHIC!
