Mr. Intolerance and the Jester
Antinomies are jokes, but they’re useful jokes. They reveal the Maybe that precedes Yes and No. I offer these two:
Mr. Intolerance can tolerate all those, and only those, who cannot tolerate themselves. Can Mr. Intolerance tolerate himself?
The Jester makes fun of all those, and only those, who do not make fun of themselves. Does the Jester make fun of himself?
(BTW: Mr. Intolerance is a kind of King; but as the King was looking down, the Jester stole his thorny crown!)
