Unrequited Love, an Underfable

       Unrequited Love

Once upon a time a Patriot said, “This land is beautiful, and this land is valuable, and I love this land; therefore this land is my land, and this land is your land, forevermore.”
Three centuries later another Patriot said the same thing, but in a different language, to a different people.
The Land made no response to either speech.

Moral: You may love the land but the land does not love you back.
