The Four Horsemen
The ground rumbled, fissured, and spat out the Devil. He bowed to Gaia and said, “At your service, milady.”
Gaia said, “Can you reduce their numbers?”
The Devil grinned. “I guarantee it.”
The lord of Hell sent forth spirit warriors. These Horsemen rampaged all over the Earth, loudly ending Human lives.
These were the Devil’s Four Horsemen:
War on a red horse;
Oppression on a black horse;
Famine on a yellow horse;
and Plague on a pale green horse.
Their master, Death, followed them on a bone-white horse.
The Horsemen rode under a banner bearing this motto:
NO LIVES MATTER.
But Horseman tactics were obsolete on a technological civilization. The Humans learned medicine and agriculture, to defeat Plague and Famine. They learned political tactics and strategies against Oppression. Worst of all, each War made Humanity’s numbers expand.
Gaia told the Devil, “Your emo theatrics don’t interest me! Nor do your Daddy issues! I am only interested in results! You have failed me!
