Burning Flag

      Burning Flag

Last night I dreamed that I was strolling down Easy Street with my friend, the Engineer. At the corner of Easy Street and Liberty Way stood a tall flagpole. Our nation’s banner was flying on that flagpole.

I was astonished to see that Old Glory was ablaze! The Red, White, and Blue was on fire... yet it was not consumed!

I cried, “Amazing! What could this mean?!”

The Engineer said, “But of course that flag is fireproof. After all, it’s got fifty pentagrams on it.”

That was when I awoke.
