The 21st Century is Skiffy
The twenty-first century is science fiction, as promised and threatened. Like science fiction, the twenty-first century has astounding special effects, some interesting ideas, and idiotic plotting. Also, it too is subject to Surgeon’s Law. Ninety percent of the twenty-first century is crud.

Also, it can’t decide whether to be dystopian, utopian, or just grind it out like previous centuries.
Ctein:
Indeed! Not impressed with the author in this one. Really needed a good script doctor... Or at least a strong editor!
NH:
My theory is that the writer is Cordwainer Bird. Meaning, they had Harlan for awhile but he quit in disgust. As for a strong editor, I nominate Jonathan Hoag. He usually works as an equally unpleasant professional: critic. Perhaps he can be persuaded to thwart a crime against art, in the making.
LF:
I suspect it’s directed by Cronenberg.
NH:
I vote Ed Wood!
“The 21st Century”, a skiffy flick, directed by Ed Wood, written by Cordwainer Bird, script doctor Jonathan Hoag, produced by Max Bialystok and Leo Bloom.
Insider’s gossip: Bialystok and Bloom first hired Cronenberg, but replaced him with Wood.
