Snowden Paradox
Is Edward Snowden a hero or a traitor?
In every public comments board mentioning Snowden, both views are defended. How
is this so? Surely he couldn’t be both... or could he?
I submit that hero/traitor for Snowden is like wave/particle for electron; it depends on how you look at it. For if Snowden’s a traitor, then what did he betray? Secrets, of course. And whose secrets? The American government’s secrets. And to whom did Snowden betray those secrets? To the people of the world, in general, and the American people specifically.
Snowden betrayed the American government’s secrets to the American people. Therefore he is a traitor to the government, and a hero to the people.
Paradox resolved.
